Acknowledging the work that has gone before them and ensuring astute stewardship continues are clearly significant drivers for the partners in this 600ha family business based just off the coast, 25 minutes south of Gisborne.

Wairakaia, a flat to very steep contoured property, carries around 5000 sheep and beef stock units. On 90ha of Wairakaia and approximately 100ha leased from neighbours, squash, maize and seed corn is grown. They have 10ha of citrus, 32ha of forestry and 1ha of tree lucerne. Each year about 250 poplar poles are planted and the farm has a nursery selling around 1000 poles annually.
