2013 East Coast Regional Supreme Winners

At Smedley, a 5054ha (3186 ha effective) Central Hawke’s Bay sheep, beef, deer and training property, Terry’s stated aim is to combine respect and old fashioned values with modern farming practices.

This, and much more, is being achieved according to the award judges who noted, “outstanding production figures with high benchmarks under intense scrutiny”. The judges commended the operation of Smedley: “As a working farm Smedley not only practises profitable and sustainable management, it also teaches this ethos to tomorrow’s agricultural leaders.”
