The award judges described Dan and Mandy as, “an innovative couple making a tough high country farm profitable through intelligent, balanced diversification”.
Dan grew up on the 6800ha property, west of Culverden. The couple have a diverse business wintering 3200su of sheep and beef, owning a beekeeping business producing remarkably pure manuka honey, and operating a farm-based tourism venture.
