Orkney Wetland Viewing Option
A team from the Thomsons Project will be at the Orkney Wetland if you would like to stop by before heading to the Open Day.
Please allow 10-15 minutes’ walk each way. The wetland is a 15-minute drive from Matakanui Station.
Time: Drop in anytime between 11.00am and 12.00pm
Location: Orkney Wetland Viewing Platform, accessed off the Otago Central Rail Trail.
Parking: Please park at the Omakau Golf Course on Alton Street, Omakau and walk south along the rail trail to the wetland viewing platform (900m along the rail trail).
The event also offers the opportunity to engage with industry representatives and the farming community, all while celebrating the achievements of Matakanui Station.
